Honda Recalls 200,000 CR-V Minivans

The Los Angeles Times (4/18, Hirsch, 692K) reports, “Honda Motor Co. will recall 204,500 CR-V crossovers, Odyssey minivans and Acura RDX crossovers to replace a safety component.” The Times notes that “during internal testing of the vehicles, Honda discovered that in subfreezing temperatures it could be possible to shift the vehicle's transmission out of the park position without depressing the brake pedal.” Honda spokesman Chris Martin said, “This hasn't actually happened on a vehicle that is in customers' hands.”

The Detroit Bureau (4/19, Eisenstein) reports, “About 17,500 of the 2013 Acura RDX sedans are covered by the recall, along with 128,000 Honda CR-Vs and 59,000 Odyssey minivans, the latter two models sold during the 2012 and 2013 model year.”
